1. Data Protection Principles

SeigePoint Logistics is committed to protecting personal data and maintaining compliance with applicable data protection laws. We implement industry-standard safeguards to ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and availability.

2. Encryption and Security

All personal data is protected using:

  • TLS 1.2+ encryption in transit
  • AES-256 encryption at rest
  • Secure password hashing (bcrypt with salt)
  • Multi-layer access controls
  • Regular security audits

3. Access Control

Data access is restricted based on role:

  • Customers: Own shipment data only
  • Staff: Shipment data relevant to assignments
  • Admins: Full access with audit logging
  • All access is logged and monitored

4. Data Retention

We retain data for as long as necessary to provide services and comply with legal obligations:

  • Active shipment data: Duration of shipping + 90 days
  • Account data: Until deletion or account termination
  • Audit logs: Minimum 2 years
  • Deleted data: Permanently removed within 30 days

5. Third Party Processors

We only work with data processors who provide equivalent data protection guarantees. All processors sign Data Processing Agreements (DPA).

6. Breach Notification

In the unlikely event of a data breach, we will:

  1. Notify affected users within 72 hours
  2. Report to relevant authorities as required by law
  3. Provide details of the breach and mitigation steps
  4. Implement preventive measures

7. Your Data Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: Obtain your personal data in a structured format
  • Rectification: Correct inaccurate data
  • Erasure: Request deletion (subject to legal holds)
  • Portability: Export your data to another provider
  • Restriction: Limit how your data is used
  • Objection: Opt-out of certain processing
